Aid & Attendance Benefit

To qualify, veterans must already be receiving a VA pension and require regular assistance from another person with at least one activity of daily living. The monthly benefit amount varies based on veteran status and dependency, but can range from several hundred to over two thousand dollars per month.

Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC)

Benefits available through PCAFC can include a monthly caregiver stipend, access to health insurance through CHAMPVA, mental health counseling, respite care (temporary relief for the caregiver), and access to caregiver training programs. Homemaker and Home Health Aide (H/HHA) Care

The VA's Homemaker and Home Health Aide program provides non-institutional care for veterans who need help with activities of daily living. Services can include personal care assistance, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and health monitoring — all delivered by trained professionals in the veteran's home.

This program is especially beneficial for Arkansas veterans who want to remain at home rather than transition to a nursing facility. Eligibility is determined by the VA based on clinical need and is typically coordinated through your VA primary care provider.

Respite Care Services
